James Vertzayias (1 July 1957 – 12 January 2009) was an Australian musician notable for being the guitarist for the alternative rock band TFOP between 1991 and the band's dissolution in 2004.
Vertzayias was born and raised in the Sydney suburb of Rockdale. He attended St Josephs Catholic Primary School and started his music career around 1975. In his later high school years, he attended St. Patrick's College in Penshurt. After he finished high school, he studied at Melbourne State College and in 1980, he studied in Germany on a scholarship.
In 1991, he joined TFOP. He remained with the group until 2004.
He died of cancer on 12 January 2009. He is survived by his wife Samantha and their daughter Steph.
